MYSTERY, MAGIC AND MEDICINE
by Howard W. Haggard, M.D.

First Edition
Condition: Very Good- in Good dj

A vivid history of the fight against disease through the ages -- the centuries when disease was a mystery, a time of dark and dread superstition; the period of the medicine man, when quackery abounded, and the dawn of science in medicine and the great development starting in the mid-19th century. This vintage book is enhanced by many illustrations and a Glossary of Proper Names and Medical Terms. The exterior is a bit rough with chipped spine ends, corner wear and a crack up the bottom half of the spine. But the binding is firm, and the unmarked interior is very nice with mostly white pages. The jacket has edge chips and tears and is discolored but is basically whole.
