Vintage Fisher Price #932 Ferry Boat COMPLETE with Box/MINTY! (C)
|
"Sleepless in Seattle?" Well, wake up! Here is a RARE Fisher Price Play Family Ferry Boat (#932) for your inspection. Manufactured for ONLY 6 months (1979-80), it is EXCEEDINGLY RARE with all of its lithos. Although this boat can float on water, Fisher Price ultimately discontinued production of this piece because customers complained that the lithos deteriorated in water. Fortunately, the boat rolls on land and makes a clicking sound when pushed. The horn toots merrily when the yellow button is depressed, the steering wheel moves to and fro as desired, and the red front and rear gates flip up and down to keep the vehicles in place during transit. As far as this particular Ferry is concerned, I would rate it as being in NEAR MINT- MINT condition.
Unlike many surviving Ferries, the original exterior lithos on this Ferry are all present. After repeatedly examining this Ferry and all of its lithos, the ONLY imperfections I can spy are:
1. Three tiny spots of edge wear and one miniscule scratch on the lower edge of the right-hand side litho; and
2. Some minor soiling on the wheels on the bottom of the boat. I believe the latter will be eradicated during the cleaning process.
The boat's plastic surfaces are gorgeous! This Ferry has definitely lived a "charmed life." The bottom of the boat is one of the best I've ever seen. I cannot detect any abrasions, deep or light scratches, "dings," chips, cracks, repairs etc. on any of the plastic surfaces. With the exception of the aforementioned dulling and soiling of the yellow wheels and a couple of barely discernible scuffs on the bottom of the boat, the other plastic colors still exhibit their original sheen and brilliant coloration. In my opinion, the plastic surfaces are in NEAR MINT-MINT condition. Overall, it's hard to believe this toy is 35 years old!
Accompanying this INCREDIBLE set are the following accessories (many of these are UNIQUE to this set):
1 EXCEEDINGLY RARE orange bodied African American man (EXC--NOTE: THIS PIECE WAS ONLY MANUFACTURED FOR USE WITH THE FERRY SET; since the set was only produced for 6 months, it's SUPER RARE TO FIND; some sellers put Gordon from Sesame St. in this man's place; that is NOT THE CORRECT PIECE; there are several small "dents" or indentations on the figures head; these may have been caused by a child's tooth; they are so shallow that they haven't permeated the plastic surface);
1 RARE Ferry Boat Captain (MINT; NOTE: This particular person was only manufactured for the Ferry and the equally RARE FP Off-Shore Cargo Set);
1 tall, blue bodied Mom with blonde pony (MINTY MINT);
1 two seater, green/white car with fins (MINTY MINT);
1 single seat, green/white car with luggage rack (MINTY MINT)'
2 RARE life preservers (MINTY MINT);
1 HTF white/blue life boat (MINTY MINT); and
1 EXCEEDINGLY RARE tan ramp; this was usually the first piece that went missing with these sets (MINTY MINT).
All in all, this is an HEIRLOOM quality play set and one that any Fisher Price collector would be proud to own. Although not depicted in my photos, I have secured a replacement yellow pull string of the same length that these Ferries originally possessed. It's not as stiff as the original pull string but it's darn close in appearance.
I will be thoroughly Q-tip cleaning this play base and all of its accessories before sending them to their new owner. I spend a minimum of 1 - 1 1/2 hours cleaning each and every Vintage Fisher Price play set I sell (except those in My Rough Room). I use a variety of cleaning products (e.g. Dawn with anti-bacterial agents, Soft Scrub, Mr. Clean's Magic Eraser, Goo Gone, Chlorox Bleach Pen, Comet etc.) along with a child's size toothbrush, Q-tips, toothpicks etc. to clean every nook and cranny. My sets are IMMACULATE.
This particular offering also affords its original box. Other than some slight bowing inwards on the bottom front edge of the box, this box is in AMAZING condition. It possesses all of its original flaps and retains its original seal on one end of the box. On a scale from 1-10 with 10 being PERFECT, I would rate this box as being a 9.5/10.0.
Don't let this boat "sail away" without you. I guarantee this set is as close to BRAND NEW as one can possibly get. It's "out of this world!"
This particular set weighs between 3 1/2-4 lbs. UNWRAPPED. To protect your investment, I will ship this set inside another protective box. I swaddle these babies in bubble wrap, pad them with styrofoam chips and/or white packing paper, cardboard inserts etc. I individually wrap EACH and EVERY accessory piece in bubble wrap. Typically, these play sets end up weighing between 5-5 1/2 lbs. once I've finished wrapping and packing them. My zip code is 47905 (Lafayette, IN).

Preferred payment is via PayPal. Payment is expected within 5 business days.
The price listed is for the item itself. The total amount due will be the purchase price of the item + the ACTUAL shipping cost to deliver your item to you. All shipping costs or extra fees (in the case of Canadian shipments) are the responsibility of the buyer. I will do everything in my power to find you the cheapest shipping rate—-whether it’s the USPS (First Class), Fed Ex, or UPS.
I USUALLY SHIP WITH IN 48 HOURS OF A CLEARED PAYMENT. I primarily utilize Fed Ex Home Delivery for items exceeding 5 lbs. in weight, measuring greater than 12 inches in any dimension, or traveling longer distances. I’ve been finding Fed Ex has been running @33% cheaper than the USPS (including Parcel Post) and UPS Ground. FYI, another benefit of using either Fed Ex or UPS is that their quote includes up to $100 worth of FREE insurance. Additional amounts of insurance may be purchased for a nominal fee (that is much less than the USPS). Fed Ex also provides automated tracking updates re: your parcel’s whereabouts directly to your personal e-mail account.
In order to ship Fed Ex (or UPS for that matter), I MUST have a residential or work place address, NOT a P.O. Box number, as well as a home or cell phone. Otherwise, they will not accept the shipping paperwork or transport your item.
I am more than happy to combine purchases into one shipment whenever it is feasible to save you on shipping costs. All I ask is that you combine all of your purchases onto ONE INVOICE. Otherwise, I get charged multiple PayPal and Bonanza fees. It also sometimes makes it difficult for me to print out a shipping label using PayPal's shipping services. In addition, by purchasing the items separately, it may cause Bonanza's shipping calculator to overcharge you on shipping. I refund any shipping overcharges in excess of $1.00; however, it's much easier on both of us if you combine all your purchases on one Invoice from the start.
Packages traveling to Alaska or Hawaii will be shipped Parcel Post via the USPS. Insurance and delivery confirmation are required.
I’m more than happy to ship selected play sets to Canada and Australia. Remember that shipping to Australia can be quite expensive so please contact me for a shipping quote before you purchase an item. I will attempt to find the cheapest shipping rate possible. Also, Australian and Canadian customers will be responsible for any brokerage fees, Custom’s duties, or VAT’s imposed by your governments. I am not responsible for these charges. Insurance is required for all international shipments.
Last, but not least, I offer a 10% discount for orders totaling $125.00 or more.
ALL SALES ARE FINAL. NO RETURNS ARE ACCEPTED. I have attempted to bring any noted "imperfections" to your attention prior to your purchasing the item. However, I'm only human. If I have missed something or you have a problem with your purchase, please contact me prior to leaving feedback.
