THE CAT WHO WISHED TO BE A MAN
by Lloyd Alexander

Condition: Near Fine in Very Good dj
Lloyd Alexander is best known as the author of the Prydain Cycle, the last volume of which was the Newbery Award winner for 1969. He also won the 1971 National Book Award in Children's Books. Only a cat lover (which he was) could have properly told the story of a feline who is given the gift of magically becoming a man for a short time. This copy is in excellent condition, with just a touch of red on the lower page corners, a short Christmas inscription opposite the title page and a partial erasure on the half-title page. The jacket has two back edge tears, some other modest edge wear and a clipped front flap (you can just make out there was a price there). A well-written, witty fantasy for children.
