Fancy silver and gold "key to my heart" key chain makes a special gift for someone or for a collector of unique, decorative keys. I made this key chain with the idea of it being a gift for someone special; a friend, boyfriend, girlfriend, fiance, fiancee, wife, or husband. Giving them this "key to my heart" would be a meaningful gift. This key chain can be used to keep your keys on or you can attach the key ring to a purse, bag, or backpack zipper or loop or strap and use it as a zipper pull or decoration dangling on the bag. The large, decorative, silver colored key is four inches long. I attached goldtone chain links all the way around the top of the key head to add a royal look and contrast of colors with the silver and gold.
 
Total length of key chain, with the key ring, is 5 1/4 inches. The key itself is 4 inches long. I used silver split rings to attach the key to the key ring. The split rings provide a solid attachment between the key ring and key for a long-lasting key chain.

INSPIRATION:
 
When I was a young child, someone gave me an old key that I have saved to this day as a special keepsake...ever since then I have been interested in unique, old-fashioned keys. I wish keys were still made with the elaborate and beautiful designs of old. These types of keys always make me think of castles, secret passageways, and special treasure boxes.
