This Noritake china is being called the Christmas Ball pattern by other sellers. Whether it was intended as a holiday motif is unknown, but it certainly fits the bill. This coupe fruit or dessert bowl is 5-1/4 inches in diameter. It is known as Noritake 175, pattern no. 16034. The 1 inch wide rim is pale yellow and gold encrusted with scrolling, beading, florals and what looks like Christmas ornaments. The interior and back of the bowl are white. The mark on the bottom is the M within a wreath accompanied by the words Noritake, Hand Painted, Made in Japan, and a row of Japanese characters. This bowl looks like it was never used. There are no utensil marks upon the surface.
