Never Replace the Bulb!
The Doctor Mom difference is that our LED is built on a circuit board with a capacitor and resistor, allowing for voltage regulation. This protects against voltage spikes that are often seen with new batteries. This voltage regulation protects the LED bulb from failure.
Otoscopes that use a simple LED bulb have a limited life span. There is a reason otoscopes that use a simple LED bulb (with no way to regulate against voltage spikes) often come with a replacement LED. Understand the complete picture on the cost of ownership;
Doctor Mom has the highest-rated yet least expensive adult and pediatric-size otoscope specula sold on Amazon in packs of 120 (others charge 14 dollars for 50 specula and theirs are not interchangeable with standard W/A otoscopes like ours). Specula are needed to keep your otoscope sanitary, allowing it to be used from one person to the next without risking transferring an external or fungal ear infection between two people.
