Ken Edwards was born In the United States.  He studied art in Kansas City, Missouri and continued in Japan.  In the 1960's he moved to Tonala in Central Mexico.  This is where he started his Ken Edwards Stoneware.  He even is showcased in a museum there.  His stoneware is lead free, high temperature, microwave safe, freezer safe, oven safe and dishwasher safe. Each piece is hand glazed by apprentices of Mr. Edwards, always working by an open window in natural light.  Each artist paints a regular piece and then the more intricate collection piece, then back to a regular piece.  Because they are all hand painted no piece is alike.  Each piece is signed KE by Ken Edwards and another signature such as an animal, fish or insect which is the signature of the artist.
