Vinyl plays nicely (play-graded). Cover has light-scuffing, a few creases and surface impressions (front/back). Inner-sleeve is original (Windham Hill ads). Spine is easy-to-read with very mild wear. Minor shelf-wear along top/bottom-edge and corners; some wear near center of top edge. Opening is crisp with signs of light use. (Not a cut-out.)
Shadowfax,, self-titled album, marked the band's debut with Windham Hill Records and their shift toward a new age and jazz fusion sound, incorporating Asian and Native American influences. Led by saxophonist Chuck Greenberg, the album captured a growing audience for new age music, reaching the Billboard Jazz Charts and earning the Cashbox New Jazz Band award. Its atmospheric and instrumental tracks, such as Angel's Flight and A Thousand Teardrops, showcased the band's skillful interplay of modern jazz instruments with exotic percussion. Historically significant as a breakthrough for Shadowfax, it established their reputation in the new age genre. While no singles from the album became major hits, Angel's Flight and A Thousand Teardrops were notable tracks praised for their haunting beauty and melodic depth.
