Up for sale is a 1920's Wooster, Ohio Wooster Rubber Co. #304 Became Rubbermaid Employee Tool Check Tag Token
Wooster Rubber Co. was established in 1920 in Wooster, Ohio. The company got its start making toy balloons. By the 1929 stock market crash the company had to get creative on new products. Eventually they created other rubber products including a dust pan. Eventually the company became Rubbermaid a household name (more historical information is available at the Wooster History website: Eight Decades of Rubbermaid in Wooster).
It seems collectibles with the early name Wooster Rubber Co. are though to come by. There aren't too many items that have sold in the past that I could find online. This tag has some condition issues, but I believe it's a rare find.
The tag is in dug condition with some corrosion. It is easier to read when held at an angle.
The token is made of brass and measures 26mm in diameter.
