The Selector Knob is an OEM replacement part for GE stainless steel electric cooktops. This stainless steel knob allows for selecting the desired heat setting with a simple turn.

Symptoms of a faulty knob include loosening, instability, or detachment from the cooktop panel. Cracks or wear could also impair proper adjustability. 

Causes can be normal wear over time from frequent use and high heat exposure. Accidental damage, forced turning, or issues with the internal connection mechanism are also possibilities.
