He enjoyed tenures at various animation studios, including Fleischer and Paramount before settling at Disney where he remained for 33 years (retiring in 1962), having assumed the role of animation director and supervisor known for Dumbo (1941), Pinocchio (1940) and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937). He died on December 20, 1980 in Santa Rosa, California, USA.
