I was born and raised on a ranch in Idaho. Too far from town to even condsider church on Sundays, but realized at a very young age God's gift of musical talent. Influenced by my moms piano playing and Grandpa's accompaniment on the guitar and mouth harp, I recall having dances at our ranch house where all the neighbors from the next ridge over would just start showing up on a long winters night, come in, and move all of the furniture out on the porch and have a dance right in our living room. Everyone danced with everyone. Kids, grownups, and grandparents. No drinking, no hanky panky, just good wholesome country fun. We all had a genuine concern for our neighbors well-being. God's golden rule, 'Love thy neighbor as they self' came natural, same as being country. For me, I think that's where 'Country Christian' all began. My lifes journey has came a long way since then. A lot closer to the music of my heart, and a lot closer to our Lord and Savior. I hope you enjoy listening to the songs as each one shows a small glimpse of country living from a Christian viewpoint. My prayer is, even if your from the city and only long for the counrty - or visa versa - that these songs will bring out the 'Country Christian' in all of us and help us to 'Love the Lord with all our heart, all our mind, all of our soul,' and 'Love thy neighbor as thyself' - Amen. God's greatest blessings - Chane Mattoon PS: I thank God for the huge blessing of working with all the extremely multi-talented people involved in this project. You are each 'One of God's Greatest'!
