A very early electric light, from around 1900 when electric lights still had gas burners in case the electricity failed. This is arts and crafts style of copper and brass with a six-sided slag glass shade over the socket.
This light is unusually rare because it still has its brass faux flame gas burners (these are now decorative only). The shade is light caramel slag glass, panels are leaded in.
The copper and brass have a beautiful patina with lots of verdigris. See photos.
Features updated wiring and its original YOST paddle fatboy socket. The socket was cleaned, tested and received a new insulator. When possible we use the original sockets, as they are much higher quality than the flimsy sockets made today.
