Herman Vandever (1964- ) Dine Navajo Nation. He belongs to a family of well-known silversmiths and it seems only natural that he would follow in their footsteps. He turns traditional methods into contemporary styles with fine, natural stones, coral and even sea shell. He often makes his own ingot silver jewelry by melting his silver to roll it out into handmade sheet silver. Started silversmithing in 1989, he was taught by his older sister Esther Wood.
