Showy Milkweed (Asclepias speciosa), also known as Butterfly Weed, is very similar to Common Milkweed. Showy will produce pale purple-pinkish flowers that have a more tapered end to the flower petals. Milkweed is known to attract butterflies and humming birds. Showy milkweed may not flower the first year as it is busy strengthening its root system
