Description
This is a wonderful vintage Mexican Oaxacan Hand Embroidered Dress in blue and white.
No labels or tags, but I am estimating it to be a S / XS.
Cobalt blue and white.
The yoke and short sleeves are solidly embroidered with flowers, foliage, and birds.
The shoulder seam has openwork woven threads.
The neck and sleeve hems have hand crocheted edging.
There is a narrow band of smocking under the yoke, with the traditional "Little People" embroidery.
Bands of embroidery around the armholes.
A band of embroidery down the front.
Side pockets with rows of satin ribbon trim.
Rows of satin ribbon trim at hem.
This dress is loose fitting, but fairly small across the upper chest and shoulders.
Underarm to underarm is 19" (but it's gathered and full.)
Length is 44.
Sweep at hem is 28" across.
Generally in very good condition. There were a couple of tiny tears near the hem that have been neatly repaired. Very slight evidence of wash wear - not bad, just being picky. Overall, very nice and presentable.

In excellent very gently pre-owned condition, with no obvious signs of a previous life. Immaculately clean and ready to wear.
