Bookplate to the rear pastedown endpaper, a strip of tanning to the endsheets, tiny drip of stain to the fore-edge pages, else very good in yellow cloth with gilt spine lettering and decoration; in a very good dust jacket with a mildly tanned spine, tiny bits of chipping to the spine ends, and modest shelf wear.

Published in England by The Golden Cockerel Press in a small limitation, these four  stories were originally published towards the end of the Ming Dynasty and according to Dr. Waley superior in every way to similar stories in the Decameron.
