The Keith Reid Project 2008 RockVille Music—RV-KR-001    UK
Genre-Rock      Style-Psychedelic Rock/Indy

For “The Common Thread,” Keith Reid (Procol Harem) has gathered together an impressive group of eight singers and songwriters. There is Chris Thompson (the voice of Manfred Mann's Earth Band), John Waite (former singer of Bad English, the Babys, and fine solo artist), Southside Johnny (known as "The Godfather of New Jersey Sound") and legendary Terry Reid amongst others.  Moving beyond Procul Harem, Reid’s newer work reveals the transcending quality of his songwriting that places him at the forefront of the singer/songwriter genre and speaks to the soul of any of us for whom music sends us to the deep end—the heart of the matter.  This is timeless and beautiful rock that overflows with great voices.  Highlights:  You’re The Voice (worldwide No. 1 hit for John Farnham in 1986, written by Thompson/Reid) here is the original version of the song that, in America, was made famous by Heart; and later,  Alan Parsons; and Barry Goldberg’s (Steve Miller, Paul Butterfield, Michael Bloomfield, Stephen Stills) Too Close to Call should have been a big hit.  This one really gets under your skin and was seriously overlooked.
