These pajamas are from the estate of a WW II army veteran.  He bought them in Japan in 1951.  I acquired this set and another set - same style, in blue, which has been sold.  Both sets were never gifted, never used.  The blue set had a Best Quality label, as this set is exactly the same I am assuming it is also had that label at some point.  The final photo is of that label as it appears on the blue set.
This set is a rich burgundy rayon satin jacquard.  White ribbon passamenterie is striking ornamentation down the front.  There are three shell buttons.
The pants have a drawstring waist and shell buttons also.
The measurements of the top are - Armpit -  Armpit - 21”.   Shoulder to Shoulder - 18”.  Sleeve length - 23”.  Length from top of shoulder - 27”.
The waist of the pants is 42” without pulling the drawstring.  The length of the pants is 41”.
These pajamas are perfect for lounging around during the holidays.  They are fancy and festive!  You could easily host a holiday party wearing this ensemble,  I have listed this set in two categories - men’s sleepwear and women’s sleepwear….as they could be worn by anyone. The buttons are on the right side of the top, which typically indicates a men’s item.
I welcome all questions and requests for more photos.
