Lots to read here.
Please understand a general cleaning has been done but detailed cleaning is the responsibility of the buyer
This is a glass etched silver backed light up mirror in a metal frame
The artist is Franz Grosz, a premier glass etching artist in the MCM era. The art is Asian in nature and looks to be Chinese in theme.
The lighting used is long tube style fluorescent type bulbs but 2 of the 4 ballast ends are missing so testing was impossible... one bulb goes at the top, one at the bottom. The mirror is on an angle to let the top light shine down.
*****The mirror freely slides in and out of the top so BE CAREFUL WHEN HANDLING AND OPENING PACKAGE. I WILL HAVE TAPE IN THIS AREA TO PREVENT ACCIDENTAL SLIDING DURING SHIPMENT AND UNPACKAGING*****
I don't know what specific type of lights it takes
It has lighting controls on the side that seem to indicate 3 speeds which may mean it has a cool flicker effect....and a cord that might need repair or replacement
There is wear... scratches, paint loss on frame.
The mirror itself looks great but the gold color of the art is fading. The silver appears to have patina and oil color-like aging.
As far as I can find, there is no other item like this so it may be a one off or a composite item made from separate pieces.
Age is approximate
Size is approximately 18.25 x 16 x 3"
The extra weight in packaging is needed for protection and upon buying, if there is a cheaper shipping option, I will use it and refund the overages back to the buyer
***Disclaimer on old/vintage/antique books/paper and the like:
Some wear from age, use and storage which may or may not include some, none or all of the following: writing/personalized notes on inside covers and title pages(or notes on pages in the case of songbooks and sheet Music), small tears, creasing, etc.... all typical Vintage and antique book wear.
Paper/prints:
Opposite side may or may not have related or unrelated texts or prints which I have deemed less interesting than the one presented. Your opinion may differ
See top of description for any outstanding flaws.
