Nippon Yusen Kaisha Silver Plated oval platter/serving dish made for Japan's NYK Line. This lovely example of Edwardian silver plate was manufactured around 1898.  It is stamped on the back R. Wallace. It is an impressive 18" in long and approx. 12' wide. The N.Y.K. Line gartered crest appears on rim. The platter does indeed show signs of use, with scratches and dings from use. Not perfect, but this is a very rare and special piece that has passed its centenary. These are a rare find and would make a great addition to any collection.
