This is a ONE OF A KIND, OFFICIAL DC COMICS SUPERMAN PRINTER'S PROOF PRODUCTION ART PAGE! This rare vintage 1998 Superman printer's proof was used by the printers in the direct production and publication of the "Superman: The Sunday Classics" trade paperback that was co-produced by DC Comics and Kitchen Sink Press back in 1998, which reprinted late 1930's and 1940's Golden Age Superman color newspaper Sunday funnies comic strips.

SIZE AND CONDITION: This printer's proof production artwork page measures approximately 13 inches by 10 inches (maybe slightly bigger), and it's in very fine/vf condition due to some light handling over the years, which is absolutely normal for production type artwork. Back in the "old days" the vast majority of production artwork was discarded, lost, or destroyed after publication, before collectors began to realize their value and collectibilty. Most superhero trade paperbacks and comic books are colored by computers now, making printer's production art like this very desirable and highly collectible, since they are no longer made.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Printer's proofs like this one are not hand-drawn like black and white original comic book art or hand-colored like comic book color guide artwork. Printer's proof pages are photocopies made by DC Comics production staff or by the printer for quality control purposes prior to publication, and they were used in the direct production of the actual Superman trade paperback. Printer's proofs like this one are different than black and white original artwork and color guide art, but were every bit as important to the successful publication. The multi-color "stripe" you see in the upper left corner are called registration marks, and they were used for quality control purposes, and if you look closely, you'll see some Production Staff information along the top left edge of the page. This page is a true piece of history.
