PFAS151 This is an antique early original hand signed photo for Philip Ray who played Reverend Anderson in the 1958 Titanic movie A Night To Remember who has personally signed the souvenir where his signature rests perfectly accompanying his portrait . Whilst the front of the card is in great condition some of reverse has been lifted from the original album leaving some of the card with thinner texture in places to its lower left region and buyer must be aware (very small lower left corner indent too) - you would not be aware of the reverse if stored in an album on arrival as it does not show to front - some age darkening but again only to reverse - graded vg minus condition - This is an extremely scarce autograph of Philip Ray who had a historic film career and also whilst a number of his films were military roles, he did military service in both WW1 and WW2.
As an Episcopal priest, Reverend Anderson boarded the RMS Carpathia as a First Class passenger in New York City bound for Europe on April 11, 1912. During the voyage on April 15, the RMS Carpathia had picked up the distress call of the RMS Titanic and then made a big dash to its rescue. When the Carpathia had rescued those who survived the Titanic disaster, Revd Anderson helped them through giving up his cabin and other personal belongings for them. He also led the service when the crew of Carpathia buried couple of the deceased.
