Item description for Antique 18th Century Bristol Bianco Sopra Bianco Plate Blue Painted Harbor Scene

A fine antique English Bristol Delft plate hand painted with a Chinese scene and dating from the mid 18th century. The pottery plate stands on a narrow unglazed foot rim and is of round shape with a flat raised rim. The center of the plate is hand painted in blue showing a harbor scene with a dock or pier and fishermen in a small boat. The scene is set within a pattern painted border and the plate is applied with a bianco-sopra-bianco scroll and leaf design border applied around the raised rim of the plate. The plate is not marked.

In good condition with customary glaze fritting around the edge. Original antique period item ca. late 18th century.
