This is a hard to find piece of restaurantware china from the cargo/passenger ship NS Savannah. It has the distinctive atom logo and is marked on the back Mayer China. In good vintage condition with some usage marks. No chips or cracks. It has a speck inside of inconsistent glaze - a tiny raised speck, which is the way it was fired. On the bottom side there is another larger spot of inconsistent glaze or rub wear, shown in the photos. It is a very attractive piece with very good logo on the front.
It measures approx 5 inches across and was a side bowl, or berry bowl.
Great collectible 1960's restaurant ware bowl from the first nuclear powered cargo ship. This piece is from the estate of a nuclear items collector who had been a nuclear engineer.
