This trading card is an exclusive from Harris through VaultCollectibles (our first exclusive, in fact). It is limited to only 500 and it features the art of fan-favorite artist Adam Hughes. The card is in nm/mint condition and will be shipped with the utmost care. Also, the card is manufactured to have a special effect that is not really visible in the photo. Vampirella is done so that she stands out in a glossy image and the background is done in matte. A really nice effect when viewed in person! Best of all, the card is signed by hand by Hughes. Please note- the signature is real. It is the actual, hand-signed signature of the Hughes and is not a pre-printed image on the card.
Adam Hughes (1967 - ) is the preeminent pinup / good girl artist of the comics genera. With no formal artistic training he has risen to the top of his field to become one of the most popular comic artists of his generation. He is best known for his work on Wonder Woman and Catwoman.
Hughes got his start in 1987 working on Mark Ellis' Death Hawk then, moving over to Comico, he illustrated writer Mike W. Barr's Maze Agency stories. After a year on Maze Agency, DC Comics offered him Justice League. From there, he went on to work on such comics as Legionaires, Gen13, Tomb Raider, Ghost, Vampirella, Star Wars, Star Trek: Debt of Honor, and numerous other projects.
In 1998, Hughes began his fan-favorite five-year run on Wonder Woman and, from 2005 until 2008, he provided equally amazing covers for Catwoman. In 2010, DC published Cover Run: The DC Comics Art o Adam Hughes, collecting together his greatest covers along with Hughes' own commentary. Currently, he is illustrating covers for DC's New 52 series Batgirl, Vertigo's Fairest, and is also illustrating the Before Watchmen mini-series Doctor Manhattan.
In 2003, Hughes won the Eisner Award for best cover for his work on Wonder Woman.
Excepting pack-pulled autograph trading cards, CGC Signature Series, signed Sideshow prints, and like collectibles, all autographed items Vault Collectibles sells were personally witnessed, by myself, being signed by the writer, artist, or celebrity in question. No third party is involved. Further, art sketches - and most published original art I sell - were obtained directly from the artist themselves.
