COMPOSITIONS:

5g granules (=1 teaspoonful / 1 sachet) contain:

Plantago ovata seed 2.60 g, 
Ispaghula husk 0.11 g, 
Tinnevelly senna pods 0.34 - 0.66 g, equivalent to 15 mg hydraxyanthracene derivatives calculated as sennoside B.

Other ingredients:

Talc, 
acacia, 
iron axides, 
paraffin, 
peppermint oil, 
sage oil, 
caraway oil, 
sucrose.

PRECAUTIONS:

» Please read the instructions in the leaflet carefully.

» Use for longer periods may worsen any existing bowel sluggishness. The preparation should be used only if constipation cannot be remedied by a change in diet or with the aid of bulking agents.

» Note: When Agiolax is taken by adult incontinent persons, prolonged contact of the skin with the faeces should be avoided by changing the sanitary towels.

DOSAGE:

» Unless otherwise directed, adults and children over 10 years of age, should take 1-2 teaspoonfuls / 1-2 sachets of Agiolax after evening meal. The individually correct dose is the lowest dose required to achieve a soft formed stool. Do not take more than 2 teaspoonfuls/ 2 sachets in a day.

» Please consume a large amount of fluid/ water when taking this product. The granules should be swallowed whole with an abundant amount of liquid i.e. 1/4 litre. When taking other medication, to wait 1/2 to 1 hour before taking Agiolax.

» Please consult a healthcare practitioner for use beyond 7 days. If the constipation does not resolve within 3 days or if abdominal pain occurs or in case of any irregularity of faeces, the use of Plantago should be discontinued and medical advice must be sought. Frequent or prolonged use of this preparation may result in dependence towards the product and 'imbalanced electrolytes'.
