A squirrel scrambles onto a branch, keeping a firm grip on its black walnut. This piece, painted in acrylic on a reclaimed mulberry wood slice, uses a natural feature in the wood to shape part of the squirrel's branch. Based on memory and reference photos taken by the artist in Johnson County, Missouri.
Wood slice has a drilled hole with a jute hanging cord. The wood is not heat certified, but it was heat treated in a household oven for safety.
Ships within 5 business days unless shipping with made-to-order items.
Care: Wood slice paintings are art, not toys. Cord and loose bark may present a choking hazard, and acrylic paint is not to go in the mouth. Keep out of the reach of pets and children who might damage or ingest it. Keep the wood slice clean and dry (it may be GENTLY blotted with a damp lint-free cloth to clean), and display out of direct sunlight to prevent color changes. Do not drop: dropping the piece is likely to loosen bark and may cause other damage. If bark becomes loose, pieces can be glued back on with wood glue or PVA school glue.
