This is a paperback book, Fortunately the Milk by Neil Gaiman with illustrations by Skottie Young.  It is a 2014 first paperback edition from Harper Collins Children's Books.  Although it's recommended for ages 8-12, some parents have said it is quite engaging for adults, and if read out loud to a child, can be appropriate for children as young as 5.
