To be honest, we have not seen a copy of this book that has not come apart at the seams, which is hardly surprising given the age, and the popularity of the main character. Mickey is almost 100 years old, now, and this book has potentially seen 4 or more generations of love.

We have repaired this book--when acquired the text book was separated from the boards, typical for this book. We professionally reinforced the spine, secured the sewing of the signature, glued the text block back to the spine and placed book binder's tape on the back hinge to reinforce and stabilize the book. We opted not to deface the front endpages as we've never seen a picture of any Disney character smoking. The corners are rubbed, the tips of the spine are chipped away. The pages are toned and there is an accidental scribble on one page (pictured) that we did not erase out of concern for the page.

Pictures were taken after the repairs were completed.

We will be happy to include a length of self-adhesive linen tape (just crease lengthwise and moisten) if you want additional strength for the front hinge.

1938 saw Mickey reaching his full potential as a character after his creation in 1928. His characteristic 2 button shorts (in this case they are overalls) are missing from this iteration, as are his white gloves, but he does have the oversized shoes and 3 fingered gloves we've all come to love.
