This is a Chi Com SKS load bearing rig. It is in used, excellent condition. It shows no signs of field wear. The color is strong and there are no holes.

This rig is not labeled. This makes it likely that it was intended for use outside of China. The primary hardware is made out of a Bakelite type of plastic. This is in contrast to other versions of this rig which used aluminum for the belt buckle.

This LBE style rig replaced the ubiquitous bandoleer style chest rig. I am unclear as to when that change occurred. There are six pockets for SKS stripper clips and four pouches for the old Chinese stick type grenades. Thus the carriage of ammunition is linked to one simple and lightweight rig, rather than utilizing pouches on a separate belt (sound familiar?). There is no provision for carrying a canteen on this rig as those were carried separately.
