Tichelaar Makkum pottery tile made in Holland. The tile is handmade and hand-painted with polychrome colors featuring a windmill. The backing of the tile authenticated the tile.

Royal Tichelaar Makkum is regarded as one of the oldest companies in the Netherlands. At the back of the frame, it states: This handmade, authentic Dutch tile has been produced by Tichelaars Royal Makkum Potteries in Makkum, Holland. Shortly after 1600 AD the manufacture and decoration of tiles by hand was stated in Holland. In fact, the methods of gazing used in the hand production of this tile have been in use in Tichelaars pottery for more than three centuries. Each tile has its own unique character which is the result of the craftsmanship and skill of its painter.

The piece is in perfect condition. There are no scratches or dents on the wood frame and no chips, cracks, or scratches on the tile.
