In plant-hunting circles, one of the treasures yet to say hello in southern horticulture is the elusive red-flowered form of sweet olive.  Well, I can now add to the rumors that

The rarest form of tea olive found only in remote areas of china does exist. Recently brought to this country by a fellow nurseryman in south carolina. Flowers are dark orange to red in color and very fragrant. This plant does not seem to bloom when young. True size of this plant is yet to be determined but is estimated anywhere from 12 feet tall to the size of a large tree
