ReplacementRadios, one of the largest factory audio/video websites, has branched out!! If you’ve been to our site, you know we have a HUGE selection of OEM radios and compatible accessories. Now we’re offering a few select products here too. Same great ReplacementRadios quality.....in a new location.
DETAILS
This is a brand new 6 disc CD drive for select Delco radios. You will need to pop the top case off your radio to verify yours has this drive because some of the radios were offered with a different, incompatible drive. If yours doesn't look exactly like the one pictured, it won't work for you.
There is a 6 month functional warranty on this drive. The warranty is void if the drive has been tampered with or damaged.
This drive might appear identical to the drive used in some Chrysler and Ford vehicles but the board on the back is different. You would be purchasing at your own risk if you don't have one of the vehicles listed below. Please do your research BEFORE purchasing.
APPLICATIONS
This drive is found in some of the radios in the following vehicles. They did have a few radios with another, incompatible CD6 drive so it is CRITICAL that you pop the top off your radio and confirm this is the drive you have BEFORE ordering. Purchasing the wrong drive for your radio is not a functional defect.
In rare instances, you may find that replacing the drive does not solve your problem. Occasionally one of the boards is bad inside the radio and, if this is the case, replacing the drive will not change anything. This is very rare but we have seen it a couple times. If you find this to be the case, we cannot fix your problem either. Replacement of your radio would be your only option.
Assembly is fairly easy. Here are the only instructions we can provide: Unplug the radio from the vehicle wiring and let it sit for at least 30 minutes. Pop the top plate off the radio. Remove the four screws around the edge of the face. Remove the face by prying up the tabs with a standard screwdriver while pulling the face away. Remove the screws holding the CD drive in. (Usually just two behind the face and two on the back.) Lift the drive up and unplug the cable(s). Remove brackets from drive (if applicable.) Repeat in reverse.
Do not attempt this repair with the radio still plugged in! In fact, you need to make sure your radio is unplugged from the harness for AT LEAST 30 minutes before attempting this repair. Otherwise electrical discharge can damage your radio. Do not make us say, "I told you so." Use common sense and follow our instructions. The last thing you want to do is ruin your whole radio.
