For bidding is a Mountain 2100, SCSI 8mm tape drive. Was used at my ISP Co. in the mid-90s to back-up my Sun servers. Powers up, was 100% working when decommissioned. Powers up, loads & ejects tape, but I no longer have the equipment to test it completely.

Therefore must be sold as-is.

Tech Details:

The series 2100 is an external tape backup system with a data capacity of 2.2GB on an 8mm helical scan tape cassette, with data rates of over 13MB/s using an SCSI interface.

Data handling capabilities allows burst data transfer rates of up to 1.5MB/s, and a sustained data transfer rate of 246KB/s.

The SCSI host adapter features embedded 16-bit DMA control to achieve host bus transfer rates of up to 10MB/s.

In addition, the resident controller BIOS firmware supports SCSI disks concurrently with the series 2100 tape drive.

Provisions for multi-threaded operation are included in the controller.

The original unit MSRP was listed at $6959.00

I am opening this up to offers, but don't get upset if I don't accept "every & any" offer.

PLEASE READ: I am standing FIRM with my No Return policy, esp. with electronic & audio equipment!

I have been getting a lot of returns, Simply Because the buyer, A) Does not know what the item is, or how to use it, or B) Is connecting it incorrectly, and inappropriately, and frying the unit, then wanting to return it. If you don't know what this unit is, or how to use it, don't buy it, Sale is Final!

I provide an accurate assesment of an items condition, and if I say it is tested and working when it leaves here, it is. I'm not a pro seller/store, I'm just trying to downsize.
