Vintage Carvel Hall 8.5" Utility Knife Circa Late Mid Century. 6" fine point blade, perfect of boning, carving, slicing etc. I have sharpened this blade and it has a very nice edge. Carvel Hall had a proprietary alloy blade material (featuring molybdenum) that actually amounted to a type of stainless steel when you came right down to it. Good marketing on them, though! Nonetheless, they had a fine reputation and were in business for nearly a century supplying the middle class kitchens of the western world. The current iteration of this brand bears no relation to the original, though they do make a reasonable facsimile of the famous Carvel crab knives. This knife is in fine condition. The handle is hickory and it houses a full tang held by three rivets. And as I said, the blade is sharp and clean.
