1930's George Washington, Mount Vernon, Alexandria, Arlington, Souvenir Album

Vintage Gray Line Tour Album Around DC:  Inside George Washington's Home, War Monuments

Here is a beautiful 1930's souvenir photo album: Greetings From Mount Vernon, Alexandria, and "Beautiful Arlington, Virginia."26 full color, hand-tinted, accordion-style fold-out photos detail the many monuments, venues, and sites in the area surrounding Mt. Vernon.  Features especially interesting period interior photos of Washington's mansion; many details seen here stand in contrast to the current, "restored," condition.

Published by the venerable Gray Lines touring company utilizing stock photos from 20's and 30's, this folder was used both as a "Deluxe Tour" guide, and as a typical souvenir promotional piece.  There is a stop-by-stop itinerary on the back page that takes us from Martha Washington's bedroom to the Daughter's of the Confederacy memorial and much in between.

Excellent condition. It has been stored in an archival folder and the colors are alive and vibrant. It has been posted and two Washington stamps remain.  There is a slight tear on cover corner that does not affect the interior.
