Ten Mackinac Island Photo Postcards Early 20th Century, Photo Linen, Hand-Tinted


Here is a beautiful set of vintage Mackinac Island, Michigan hand-tinted photo postcard from the early 20th century era. All in excellent condition, unused and unmarked. All but one printed on linen-finish photo paper with bright crisp colors. Offered as a group only, please. 

1) MAIN STREET PROMENADE:  Two panoramic views of the Main St. promenade with horse drawn surreys, local stores, and accommodations.

2) GRAND HOTEL: Two views of what was known as the "world's largest summer hotel" with two perspectives of the garden grounds. Reputed to be closed "81% of the year." Now that is something to brag about!  (One linen, one glossy.)

3) OLD BLOCK HOUSE: Two views of the Old Block House overlooking the village and harbor.

4) OLD FORT MACKINAC: Front view of the fort overlooking the statue of Fr. Marquette in the formal gardens.

5) SAINT ANN'S CHURCH: View of St. Ann's from the bay fronted by cabin cruisers and sloops.  

6) JOHN JACOB ASTOR HOUSE: The original Headquarters for the American Fur Company from the early 1800's and the center piece of Astor's fortune.  

7) WELCOME TO MACKINAC: Classic pictorial card with scenes of the city from the harbor, Arch Rock, the Old Mission, Sugar Loaf, and Block House.
