Here is a nice vintage Easy Money tabletop board game from Milton Bradley, circa 1974: Buy & Sell, Borrow & Save! This game is complete and in very good condition. It has been played sparingly. The box does have some marking and scuffing. Easy Money was a Depression Era game that was played using the classic Landlord's Game formula and format that Monopoly had successfully established a little earlier. Indeed, the original playing boards looked so similar to Monopoly's boards that MB was sued, over and over again by Parker Bros! In 1974 MB gave Easy Money it's one and only monetary update by multiplying all dollar values by 10X... Inflation runs amok! This is the revised version and I'd say the dollar amounts certainly reflect a 1970's middle-class lifestyle. I bought my first home in 1974 for $10,500 ($120/month mortgage payment); the houses on this board range from $7,200 to $27,000.
For children of all ages these two things seem synonymous with Christmas, Birthdays, Bar & Bat Mitzvahs, Easter, Hanukah, Diwali, Grandparents Arriving for a Visit, Father Returning From a Business Trip, Chinese New Year, Eid al-Fitr, Monito Monita, Advent, and so on and so forth.... Interestingly, most of the shoppers who visit this section are adults looking to find something from their own childhood memory: That certain Tonka truck, or that particular Cootie game, or that special Raggedy Ann or Andy, or even their own personal "Rosebud" (if you know what I mean).... Listings are always changing here as things come and go, so check back occasionally; you might just find what you have forgotten.
