US ARMY 1st INFANTRY DIVISION Challenge Coin w/ Presentation Box.

This is a great looking US ARMY 1st Infantry Division commemorative challenge coin. Coin displays the green 1st Infantry Division Patch on a gold & black background on the front side while the reverse side has a polished gold plated US Army logo. Coin has reeded edges and is about 1 9/16" in diameter. All details are raised lettering and gold plated. Coin is contained in an acrylic air tight holder and displayed in an attractive black velvet presentation box which will make this a very impressive gift.

The 1st Infantry Division of the United States Army is the oldest division in the United States Army. It has seen continuous service since its organization in 1917. It was officially nicknamed the The Big Red One after its shoulder patch and is also nicknamed The Fighting First. However, the division has also received troop monikers of The Big Dead One and The Bloody First as puns on the respective officially-sanctioned nicknames. It is currently based at Fort Riley, Kansas.
