Play Chinese Checkers in style! Wood Artist Paul Szewc of Guelph has built this premium, unique and fun-to-play large wooden Chinese Checkers board game. This Chinese Checker board is made of Baltic birch plywood and the flower images and game outlines have been laser engraved and will not wear off through extended use. These patterns give the game board a textured and embossed look.
Marble are included with purchase but colours may differ from the images shown.
Due to the wood that we make this out of your board may or may not have patches and/or dark spots in the marble wells. We try to pick the clearest board but sometimes not possible. If you are very particular let us know and we can send a photo of the board we pick to send you.
The estimated diameter of the board is 18 5/8" with an estimated circumference of 58 1/2" and thickness of 1/2 inch. As our products are hand finished, slight changes in size may occur from the size given. Additionally, please note that due to wood grain variance, your board may differ slightly than the board shown in the photos. Marble are included with purchase but colours may differ from the images shown.
The game board has been hand shaped, sanded, and finished with several coats of lacquer creating a smooth to the touch finish. This is the same process that a fine piece of furniture receives. It is very durable and requires no care. Simply wipe with a damp cloth if it becomes dirty. Paul designed this Chinese Checkers board with better play in mind. Tired of traditional boards, where the marbles sit close together making clear movement over the board difficult, Paul designed this game board so that the marbles are larger and the indentations where the marbles sit are further apart allowing the player to easily pickup and move during their turn. Additionally, lasered channels connecting the indentations allow for easy marble travel.
As wood is a natural living product it can be a little unruly; knots, streaking, other blemishes and flaws in the grain can occur during the natural growth of the tree. We at Masterpiece Lasered Wood, the home of the famous "Wonky" furniture design believe these imperfections add a uniqueness to our products and LOVE us some rebellious wood grain or an interesting knot here or there that doesn't interfere with the use of the item.
