OUR LADY OF MOUNT CARMEL

 

Our Lady of Mount or Our Lady of Mount Carmel is the title given to Mary, mother of Jesus, in honor of her role as patron of the Carmelite Order. The first Carmelites were hermits who lived on Mount Carmel, in the Holy Land, between the end of the 12th century and known from the 13th century. They built, in the middle of their hermitages, a chapel that they dedicated to the Blessed Virgin.
