Fouquet Paris Store Mosaic Art Poster Print 18 x 24 in
This Mosaic sketch was created by the Czech artist, Alphonse Maria Mucha. It was part of the 1899 grand design for Paris jeweller, George Fouquet's fabulous new store.
Mucha was born July, 1860 in Moravia, Czech Republic. He was famous for designing commercial posters and stage sets. But later designed art-deco furniture and jewellery.
He met George Fouquet through actress Sarah Bernhardt, when she asked Fouquet to make a snake bracelet that Mucha designed for her. Fouquet liked his work so much that he asked him to completely re-design his Paris store at 6 rue Royale.
The stunning art-deco store is now part of the Carnavalet Museum in Paris.
