SHADES, AND DESIGNS.

 SIGNED BY THE ARTIST "WALTER"

IN THE GLASS.

 

Mr. Edwin Walter is known for his large fused and hot glass window panels and glass mosaic pictures & scenes his work has been on exhibition in numerous museums and galleries throughout the South.

Several of his pieces are also housed at the Columbia Art League.

"Edwin D. Walter" was a Master Glass Maker, a Columbia,

SC native he died Feb. 5, 2001 at his home in troy,

Alabama at the age of 82.

He grew up in Columbia, SC and taught art at

Hickman High School and MU before teaching at several other Universities, including Troy State, where he taught for 39 years.

His work is not "Fusions" but is kiln-fired or "kiln-formed" or

"slumped" and is done in an ordinary pottery kiln.

This piece measures 7 1/4' in, length and 5 1/2"

at it's widest point. It is in MINT condition, with no

evident nips or repairs.
