This small Los Castillo work of art utilizes a method of using a combination of metals,”Metales Casados”.  The method was developed by Jorge Castillo, 1948-1950.  This technique is also known as married metals or mixed metals.
The angelfish here is a combination of sterling silver, brass, and copper.  It is marked on the back Los Castillo, Hecho en Mexico, 207.
The brooch measures 2 3/16” across and 2 1/2” tall.  It weighs about 20.7 grams….I don’t have a scale, but I saw a similar brooch where that weight was stated in the description.
This angelfish is smooth and beautifully contoured.  No dents.  There is some surface wear that reflects its age - it does date from the 1950’s.
This would be a fine gift for a Pisces!
It is a fine statement piece and would enhance any outfit.

I welcome all questions and requests for more photos.
