Vintage Staffordshire Style 4 Cats Mother Cat Kittens Figurine Spill Vase Planter
A beautifully made Staffordshire style figural pottery spill vase is in the form of a mother cat and her three kittens. Mother cat is wearing her nightgown and it appears she is trying to settle her babies to sleep for the night. The mother cat is bouncing one kitten on her knee, while one is playing drums, and the last one is sitting on the chamber pot. Behind them is a spill vase, or small planter.
It is handpainted with great attention to detail. Unmarked, but I believe it to be a reproduction piece, but of high quality judging from the workmanship. It is not slip cast, as many of these reproductions are, but rather has the small firing holes (one on the bottom, and 6 more situated around the side of the base.)
VERY GOOD CONDITION ~ No nicks, chips, cracks, flea bites, or damage.
This an adorable piece that would look beautiful on any fire place or cabinet. It would be a great addition to any cat collection or decor. It would even make a wonderful gift for a cat loving friend or loved one.
It measures approx. 7" H x 6 1/2" L x 6" W.
The spill is 2 1/2" H x 3 7/8" L x 2 1/2" W.
It weighs 2 lbs. 9 oz. prior to packaging.
