This brilliantly orange glass bowl was made by Viking Glass Company in the 1970s. Their name for this color was Persimmon. The bowl has a shallow foot with a nicely formed marie at the base. The round dish was worked into a square shape on the edges, and all four corners were curved upwards into an attractive bowl shape. This is called a bonbon in the catalog.

The dish is 7 inches across from opposite points and also 7 inches wide across the flat edges. To the top of one of the points it is 2 1/2 inches tall.

There is a a small chip 1/8" by 1/8" in the rim of the bowl, on the edge of one of the corners. There is a deep scratch on the outside, which is shaped like a check mark, and is just slightly over 1/4 inch long. There is a rub mark of wear on the inside, in one spot, which is about 1 1/2 inches long. There is wear on the bottom of the foot.

This will be a nice accent of color in your living room or on your table, when filled with candy or other small items.
