When selecting your site for planting Edelweiss grapes, look for a place that has full sun, well-drained soil, and adequate space for the vines to spread out. Plant the vines in early spring when the soil is workable and the weather is mild. Dig a hole large enough to fit the root ball of the vine and amend the soil with a generous amount of compost or aged manure. Place the vine in the hole, making sure the graft union (a bump near the base of the vine) is above the soil level and backfill with the amended soil.

Water the newly planted vines well and provide additional water during dry spells. Prune the vines in late winter or early spring by removing excess foliage and old wood from the previous season.
