* Glycyrrhiza glabra is commonly known as Licorice Plant.
* Native to southern Europe and various parts of Asia
* Green oval leaves with purple & white flowers
* Roots are used to add flavor to beer and drinks; adds sweetness and acts as a bronchodilator when added to tobacco
* Dried and chewed as a mouth freshener
* Sweetness is 30-50x stronger than sucrose without causing damage to teeth
* Dried root sticks are a traditional sweet treat in many countries
* Used in herbal remedies to boost immunity, ease respiratory congestion, and reduce chronic fatigue.

GROWING RECOMMENDATIONS:
1. Soak seeds in warm water for 24 hours.
2. Sow 1/4” deep in small pots with moistened seed-starting mix. Place in warm indirect sunlight, keeping moist. Germination will occur in 1-3 weeks. Some seeds will sprout all at once; others may take longer to break dormancy. Be patient and don't discard seeds prematurely!  :)
3. Transplant 4” tall seedlings 24” apart after last frost. Choose a spot with full sun during the day & protect young plants during the first few winters.

*** Glycyrrhiza glabra plants have long roots, so make sure they have plenty of room to spread.
*** Harvest in the fall, 2 or 3 years after planting.
