Classic film-noir following aging boxer Bill 'Stoker' Thompson (Robert Ryan). Determined to win another match, Stoker is about to fight the youthful Tiger Nelson (Hal Fieberling), but unbeknown to Stoker, his manager, Tiny (George Tobias), has fixed the match with vicious gangster Little Boy (Alan Baxter) in Nelson's favour. When Stoker finds out about the set-up, he continues to fight on but pays the price...
